• Account data: name, email, phone number, role (farmer, buyer, society, country officer, VVB, field science, admin).
• Farm data: farm location, boundary, tree count, tree type, and related documents you upload.
• Field measurements: allometric, soil, and calibration inputs entered by authorised field science users.
• Transactional data: orders, listings, invoices, payment status, revenue splits.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, device information, and standard server logs.

• To create and manage your account and role-based access.
• To monitor farms via satellite, calculate estimated carbon sequestration, and prepare audit-ready reports.
• To operate the marketplace: listings, orders, invoicing, and revenue distribution.
• To communicate with you about your account, farms, orders, or support requests.
• To comply with legal, tax, audit, and regulatory obligations.

We process your data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, with your consent where required, and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the platform.

We share data only where necessary with:

• Accredited verifiers (VVBs) reviewing carbon projects.
• Cooperatives ("societies") linked to your farm at your request.
• Buyers, limited to the provenance information attached to credits they purchase.
• Infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email, payment) under confidentiality agreements.
• Regulators and auditors where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

Our infrastructure is provided by cloud vendors that may process data outside your country. Transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws.

We keep account and farm data while your account is active and for as long as needed to meet legal, audit, and carbon methodology record-keeping obligations (typically a minimum of the credit crediting period plus applicable statutory limits).

Subject to local law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Email info@globalcarbon-ledger.com to exercise any of these rights.

We use row-level security in our database, role-based access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and keep it private.

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

The platform is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the platform and take effect on the new effective date shown above.

This policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
